Categories for bills are well thought out. Why can’t we use them for purchases?
Hi @Simon68 across Snoop we use:
-
Categories: These are recorded against any type of transaction and can be either one of our standard 14 categories or you can setup a custom category to track spending however you wish. Categories are used in spending analysis, budgets, alerts etc.
-
Products: products are used in various places of our app and this includes the bill section. You can setup a bill by telling Snoop what type of ‘product’ a regular payment is for. This product type is then used in our analysis and in our product comparison services for example.
So a regular transaction for your car insurance for example, could have both a ‘finances’ category attached to it but also be linked to a bill, which is setup as a ‘car insurance’ product.
I hope that makes sense
