Assign refunds after they're paid

Spent £50 in December on clothes.
Got a refund of £25 in January.

But I can’t link them.

I know there is a “Track a refund” tool, but it would be good to assign that refund to a transaction AFTER it’s come through. Otherwise it skews data.

Cheers,

Hi @JACOB,

Thank you for the suggestion of being able to link a refund to the original transaction in Snoop.

Just as you mentioned, we have the ‘Track a refund’ feature which will send an alert once the refund has been seen by the app but this doesn’t link the transactions together and so I’ll raise this as feedback.

In the meantime, if you have a refund that is skewing the spending and budgeting analysis, you can categorise the refund transaction so that it is in the same category as the original transaction to balance out the spending for that category.

Alternatively, if the two transactions have fallen into different months or pay cycles, you can exclude the transactions from your spending analysis.

You can exclude a transaction by clicking into the payment and you’ll see an option to ‘Exclude transaction from your spend analysis?’.

I hope this helps!

All the best,
Charley
