I assume that even though I cannot set up regular payments in the Snoop app (First Direct) I can presumably set up a standing order manually in my bank app. If this is the case could that be clarified in the app, since it implies that it is impossible to set up a regular payment, despite it being possible in the Bank app.
Additionally, when setting up a manual bank transfer, the name returned by the bank is “Bondsmith Savings Nominees Ltd”, as opposed to the “Bondsmith Savings” the app directs you to enter. Not a big deal, but would be nice for the information to be accurate.
And then the standing order got flagged as high risk for fraud… Probably not something you can fix but good to be aware of.
Just checked and my bank, Barclays, comes back at just Bondsmith Savings, and think I was warned about fraud, but think that always hsppens with any new payment.
@R520 thanks for your post! I guess we don’t specifically point out that you could manually set up a regular payment from your banking app since you can set these up within Snoop (if your bank supports it), and we also show you the account details to manually make a transfer from your banking app, whether it’s a one-off or you want to set a regular deposit up. It’s interesting that you mention that since your banking app doesn’t support regular payments set up in Snoop itself, the wording suggests this also wouldn’t be possible by manually setting up in your banking app. We’ll definitely take this into consideration!
As for the savings name returned by the bank, I completely understand the concern this may cause. The name actually varies between those two, depending on the bank; it just so happens that your bank shows the one that isn’t displayed in Snoop.
Many thanks, Owen.
