With the decommissioning of the web app, is there anyway to be able to use Snoop as a couple/family? We have shared accounts and personal accounts and would like to be able to access all of them - obviously, this would no longer be possible via the web app. Also, how would be export to Excel via the phone app?
Hi @MikeCharlieBravo - please can you email hello@snoop.app so we can give you suggestions on how to connect with multiple accounts.
With regards exporting to Excel - our Snoop Plus product allows this feature from the mobile app. You can complete a full export of transactions which is provided to you via a secure email (logging into a web page).
I have wondered the same, my wife and I use Snoop for our house / family finance. But then money hub for each of our separately for our personal accounts.
I have two questions. First log on, my wife uses my snoop logon to access our joint accounts and family budget on her devices. Can snoop do separate logons for multiple users within a family, to access a family wide budget management.
Second question, can snoop present different accounts being visible for different family users, or do we need to keep with separate app for our personal.
I am a plus user, not sure if that makes a different for things like Apples family sharing?
I had not thought about these questions until reading the above.
Hi @AndyMac we don’t restrict the app being accessed from multiple devices, but Snoop is currently designed to be for individuals and we state in our terms that you shouldn’t share your log-on credentials with others.
This is particularly important on some of our features which are about the individual named customer - for example our credit score feature which is obviously about a specific person and our savings account feature which is a financial account in the name of the person who holds the Snoop account.
With these things in mind, our recommendation would be that you and your wife have your own Snoop accounts and then you can connect each other’s bank accounts to each as needed.
In the future we might look at introducing a more shared budget or tracking feature but that’s not what we have today.
If you need any help with connecting bank accounts across Snoop accounts, then please drop us a line from the app or at hello@snoop.app
Thank you for coming back to me Paul. Yes shared budgets would be great as a future dev.
Shared is needed where you have partners with shared accounts and shared credit cards. As money and spending is pooled and the budget is a house budget, this feature would allow both people to access the ‘house’ budget.
I’d like to be able to pull all transactions in from my, my wife’s (with her permission obvs), and our joint accounts.
I’d like to allocate each transaction to a budget line item (preferably with AI assistance), e.g. My Clothes, Her Clothes, Groceries, etc.
I’d like each budget line item to be allocated money on either an annual basis or a monthly basis. e.g. My Lunch (per month), Our Going Out (per month), Our Holidays (per year).
I’d like running totals of spend against each line item.
I’d like the balance for each budget line item to roll over to the following month (credit or debit balance).
Both of us would like to be able to see all the budget line items and transactions.
I get that this isn’t the sexy side of budgeting apps like automatic checks on my credit score, etc. But these are the use cases that would meet my basic needs.
Is this possible with Snoop in a mobile application?
You can automatically categorise based on merchant, which flows through to budget categories
You can set budgets for a month or paycycle. We don’t do rollover budgets
We track and show running spends. We also predict future spend based on your bills
You can have your own Snoop accounts and have the same bank accounts connected to each. There is nothing to stop you both logging into the same account, but as I’ve explained above this is not something we support.
