See total outgoing and incoming separately

Hi,
Is there an option to see the total outgoing and an separate total incoming per month? Rather than the combined spending per month.

Thanks

Hi

I use the spending report, available in the Plus version.

You have to enter the start and finish date into the the customised option, which is a pain, but it may give you what you need

Thanks, I’ve tried that however it just shows me how much more or less I’ve spent from my total income. I’m trying to get the total income and total out goings seen separately but I don’t think that’s an option yet.

Hi @Svv

Thank you for your query, @Mike1 is correct in that we have a spending report in which you can see any transactions for the period selected under the category and you could then see the income category specifically. However, we do not currently have a separate report for income, but I have shared this with our development team as we appreciate suggestions on features for the app.

Many thanks,
Sarah

It would be good to have an income report or the ability under plus to choose income or expenditure as Mike says.

I would also like to request better forecasting. With the emergency saving, that’s all well and good, but there is no way I and I’m sure most people could set aside enough saving to cover 3 months of ‘normal’ expenditure.

But this feature could be tweaked as it would be really useful if said tool, could give a forecast for 1 month. If you could forecast the month ahead it would be a real game changer. As you would know what income you need, or if you need to use savings to cover any ‘big’ planned bills in the next month.

Hi @AndyMac

Thank you for sharing your additional suggestions on the income report vs a spending report.

I have shared all of your thoughts on this, emergency saving and forecasting with our development team.

In regards to forecasting we have this included in our bills feature and you are also able to add in any income that comes into your connected accounts. The bills screen will not only show you bills, but show show a predicted balance with the bills and income included as it goes through the month.

If you would like any further information you can always pop an email over to us on hello@snoop.app

Many thanks,
Sarah

I do find Snoop misses future bills though, and it doesnt allow you to change the preceeding months credit card figures, so whilst it is good it isnt perfect. I used to use Money Dashboard and their forward planning tool was brilliant.

Hi @Mike1

If you pop us an email on hello@snoop.app we can take a look at any bill issues for you. I have also shared this with the team as we can take a look at our features for future updates based on feedback.

Many thanks,
Sarah

Next time I spot a bill or income missing I will drop you an email.

Regards

Mike

Hi @Sarah_J

Totally agree and I use the ‘look ahead to next pay cycle’ all the time.

It’s how I gather my coming months commitments, where it falls down is you can not add cost that have not previously happened.

This means the look ahead feature is great, but it can’t include new bills, or adhoc items like building repairs.

My suggestion to adapt the Emergency Fund module is that it allows you to add ‘Essential Spending’.

It’s the Essential Spending that is key to forecasting the future months expenditure. If the look ahead feature could allow you to add the essential spending manually this would be a huge improvement.

I think if the emergency module could allow for you to choose the period, 1-6 months variable? This would be a great improvement.

If we can have Essential Spending added to the look ahead feature it would be a huge improvement. This would allow me to ditch excel and use Snoop totally for forecasting.

Thanks, Andy

Hi @AndyMac

Thank you for your in depth suggestion, I have passed this along also in addition to your previous feedback.

Please do let us know if you have any additional feedback or queries.

Many thanks,
Sarah

Hi @Mike1 I’m sorry it’s not possible to add a forecast for a one-off future payment.

I will share your feedback with the wider Snoop team for you as it helps us prioritise new features based on what our users want to see.

If you have any further feedback or other suggestions, please do let us know.

Many thanks,
Charley
