After doing a search I see a person in 2022 asked about income monitoring, but I can’t see anything since.
The app is fab and I love it, however the app does not easily allow for monitoring Income
/ payments made to you. I had a random scheduled six monthly income in this months bills.
It appears I must have added this by mistake, but the app lacks the ability to manage scheduled income. Pending income shows in bills, but as soon as it’s reconciled it disappears out of view for the current month.
This means you cannot easily track or manage scheduled income which is in current month.
Also when you go to bills? Scheduled income does not appear in the current entire list. I know why it does not show when you view all bills, as it’s not a bill. But this highlights the need to view and manage scheduled income, under an income section.
There must be people like me who had scheduled an income payment, but then completely forgot about it. Resulting in this scheduled income popping up randomly. When I was setting my monthly budget I couldn’t understand why I could not get the app to match my calculations over the net budget position; this was why.
The reporting of income is not easy to find either, it needs a clear income reporting function under the plus features, with an income report.
This also adds weight for a better budget management facility that allows you to set budget predictions for current and future months. The feature needs to include income and expenditure.
This has been shared with the team and they’ll feed your comments into the next round of app development conversations.
Just to check - do you use the Bill Protector feature in Your Bills? If you do, you can set and edit your repeating income, which can help you stay on track. I appreciate this isn’t exactly what you’re highlighting here but it can be useful.
There is also an option to create a Custom Spend Report for one or more accounts (snoop://spendanalysis/spendreport) - given the name, this is of course focused on Spending. But it does also provide a total Income amount for the period/accounts in question. This may also help.
But, as I say - the team will certainly consider your comments - we really appreciate you taking time out to share them.
Thank you for coming back to me, with a detailed response, I appreciate it.
I also really appreciate you raising this with your dev team.
Yes I use the bill protector, I use all areas of the app. It was a surprise the income bill as it was not showing under the income manager in bill protector.
Also yes, I had used the custom report, but as you say it’s not overly clear as it sits under expenditure bills.
Hi @AndyMac - in our bill protector feature you can track any regular income but you can also add one-off expected income events too.
Would that help you here?
There is no limit to how many regular income rules you setup or one-off items. You can find both of these by tapping on the bills section, tapping on the specific account in question and scrolling to the bottom of the screen where you will see the manage income option.
