Soft 'doubling up' of spending totals via cards

Hi,

Apologies for the long post.

I’m new to the app and am finding the insights generated so far very interesting. This may be an error on my part, but the ‘total spend’ reports are, however, mildly confusing as credit/charge cards are treated as merchants and not as accounts. This results in a soft ‘doubling up’ of totals - e.g., if I pay £2000 for a TUI holiday on Amex, the £2000 total will appear twice - as £2000 spent on Amex and £2000 spent on TUI. This is mainly a problem when I’ve used multiple payment methods - e.g., current, credit card, and charge card accounts - for a given merchant, as it becomes much more difficult to reconcile the actual spend.

Is it possible to have the option to view the spending report so that card accounts reflect the spend on the actual end merchant as some kind of sub-level, perhaps like:

Amex (£2200) comprised of:

  • TUI £2000
  • Restaurant A £200

Mastercard (£300) comprised of:

  • Restaurant B £150
  • Cinema £30
  • Interest Charge £20

Current Account

  • Amex Payment £2200
  • Mastercard Payment £200
  • Restaurant A £100
  • Restaurant B £50
  • TUI Deposit £200

So that the actual report then shows, in order:

TUI £2200, Rest A £300, Rest B £200, Cinema £30, Mastercard (Interest) £20, Amex 0 (as no charge e.g. membership was made by Amex this period).

If this option already exists, I’d greatly appreciate a pointer on how to generate reports this way.

Thank you.
